Wrestling Cauliflower Ear
Wrestlers get cauliflower ear (acute auricular hematoma) often when they don't wear appropriate headgear during a wrestling match or practice. Constant friction and banging of the ears during wrestling matches causes the cauliflower ear injury. This can be avoided by simply making sure to always wear an earguard set when wrestling. Many athletic associations require wrestlers to wear ear guards or some kind of headgear to prevent cauliflower ear or even a worse injury to the ear. A lot of people think wrestling and cauliflower ears go hand-in-hand, but the truth is that a cauliflower ear injury isn't very attractive, and doesn't feel too good either, so it's best to take care of your ears if you are participating in contact sports like wrestling, rugby, boxing, etc.
